To decorate Oreo Balls
If you choose to decorate these after dipping them in the melted chocolate, then you can reserve about 2 Tablespoon of the oreo crumbs.
Sprinkle it over the oreo balls (preferably the ones with the white coating).
Other Decoration Options
Besides reserving some of the oreo crumbs to use as decoration, you can use some of these also:
- Coconut Flakes
- Crushed Nuts
- Crushed Peppermint Candies
- Holiday Themed Sprinkles
- Melted Chocolate, drizzled
How to store Oreo Balls
You can store these Oreo Balls in the refrigerator.
Do not keep them on the counter top because it will start to melt.
Plus, with the cream cheese that we used, it will start to spoil.
These Truffle Balls will last as long as 3 weeks (if they last that long) in the fridge in an air tight container.
How to make Oreo Balls
Firstly, crush the oreo cookies in the food processor or in a Ziploc bag with a rolling pin.
Beat the cream cheese until smooth and then add the oreo crumbs.
Mix together.
Secondly, form balls by rolling them in the palm of your hands and then place them on a lined baking sheet pan with parchment paper.
Put them in the freezer for about 30 to 45 minutes.
Thirdly, melt the chocolate wafers as instructed on the package.
Fourthly, dip the frozen balls into the melted chocolate and place them back on the lined baking sheet to dry, until you finish them all.
Finally, place them in the fridge to chill, until you are ready to serve.
