Red White & Blue Jello Shots are the perfect layered Holiday treat that are very easy to make and are spiked with Vodka for a great Adult dessert.

But remove the Vodka and they become the best Kids treat.

They only need some patience for them to set, then you can enjoy them.

It is another Fourth of July or Memorial Day party favorite, just like my Red White & Blue Poke Cake.

These aren’t just for the holiday but for those Summer Back Yard Barbecue Party with your Family and Friends.

For this recipe I use 2oz plastic cups instead of shot glasses.

No need for cleaning up afterwards.

They go right into the garbage bin and not thinking of washing so many glasses.

What kind of alcohol is good in Jello Shots

You can make this Red White & Blue Jello Shots Recipe with any kind of alcohol.

However, the most common type of alcohol is Vodka.

Any type of Vodka brand or flavor can be used.

It’s your preference.

Also, another great option to use is any type of White Rum.

How to store these Red White & Blue Jello Shots

Store these Jello Shots in the refrigerator always, until you are ready to serve.

Do not leave them out or else they will start to melt and it will become drinks instead of jello shots.

They can be store for up to 7 days in the refrigerator covered with their lids.

If you don’t have lids for them, use plastic wrap or aluminum foil paper to cover them to avoid air from getting inside.

Serving Red White & Blue Jello Shots

To make these fancy, fun and all that, is to make them into Red White & Blue Jello Shots with Cool Whip.

Yes I said it, Whipped Cream.

Before serving them, just spray some whipped cream on the top.

Another step is to sprinkle some red white and blue sprinkles on top of the whipped cream.

Ain’t that some fun now.

How to make Red White & Blue Jello Shots

The two flavored gelatin to make the red white & blue jello shots.

As I said before it takes a lot of patience to make this recipe.

But set aside about 4 and a half hours to make these fully set.

Also, make space in the fridge for the baking sheet with the 2oz cups to easily transfer to and from the fridge.

To make the blue layer:

Add the 1 cup of boiling water to a measuring and then stir in the blue flavored gelatin.

Stir until dissolved.

Add the 1 cup of vodka and stir. Pour the blue mixture into the 2oz cups about 1/3 full.

Transfer them to the fridge for about 1 1/2 hours or until fully set.

To make the white layer:

Add 1/4 cup room temperature water to a measuring cup.

Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin and stir.

Allow to bloom for 5 minutes.

Pour 1/2 cup boiling water and stir.

Add enough sweetened condensed milk and then 1/2 cup vodka.

Make sure the white liquid is 2 1/3 cups.

Allow to cool and then pour over to the fully set blue layer about 2/3 full.

Transfer to the fridge for about 1 1/2 hours or until fully set.

Pouring the white layer over the fully set blue layer jello shots.

To make red layer:

Add the 1 cup of boiling water to a measuring cup and then stir in the red flavored gelatin.

Stir until dissolved.

Add the 1 cup of vodka and stir.

Allow to cool and pour the red mixture over the fully set white layer.

Transfer them to the fridge for about 1 1/2 hours or until fully set.

Pouring the red flavored gelation mixture over the fully set white layer.

Once the red layer is set, cover with each cup with a lid and enjoy or store in the fridge until you are ready to serve.

After 4 and a half hours of fully set Red White & Blue Jello Shots on a baking sheet pan.

Red White & Blue Jello Shots Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 (3oz) Raspberry Flavored Jello
  • 1 (3oz) Berry Blue Flavored Jello
  • 14oz can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 (0.25oz) Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1/4 cup room temperature Water
  • 2 1/2 cups Boiling Water
  • 2 1/2 cups Vodka
  • 2oz cups

Instructions

  1. Before you start making this Red White & Blue Jello Shots, please make a space in the refrigerator that can fit the largest baking sheet pan you have.
  2. Place the baking sheet pan on a flat surface and then add the 2oz cups on it. This helps to transport to and from the refrigerator.

To make the Blue Layer

  1. In a measuring cup, add 1 cup of boiling water and sprinkle the berry blue flavored gelatin and stir, until dissolved.
  2. Add the 1 cup of Vodka and continue to stir.
  3. Pour the berry blue mixture into each of the 2oz cups that are on the baking sheet pan to about 1/3 full.
  4. Place the baking sheet pan with the cups into the refrigerator to set for bout 1 1/2 hours or until firmly set. Do not place it in the freezer. It will cause it to lose it’s ability to gel and become watery.
  5. Do not remove it from the refrigerator until it is fully set. If you choose not to, then the colors will mix together when you add the next color.

To make the White Layer

  1. Add 1/4 cup of room temperature water into a measuring cup and sprinkle the envelope of the unflavored gelatin and stir until dissolved. Allow it to bloom for about 5 minutes.
  2. Pour 1/2 cup boiling water and stir, until it is dissolved.
  3. Add just about more than half of the sweetened condensed milk and the 1/2 cup of vodka and mix together. Add enough sweetened condensed milk to make it be 2 1/3 cups of liquid to create the white layer.
  4. Once the white layer is cooled (and the blue layer is set), pour the white layer over the blue layer until 2/3 full.
  5. Refrigerator for another 1 1/2 hours until firmly set. Do not place it in the freezer. It will cause it to lose it’s ability to gel and become watery.
  6. Do not remove it from the refrigerator it is fully set. If you choose not to, then the colors will mix together when you add the next color.

Making the Red Layer

  1. In a measuring cup, add 1 cup of boiling water and sprinkle the raspberry flavored gelatin and stir, until dissolved.
  2. Add the remaining 1 cup of Vodka and continue to stir.
  3. Once the red layer is cooled (and the white layer is set), pour the raspberry mixture evenly over the white layer.
  4. Refrigerator the cups on the baking sheet pan for a final 1 1/2 hours or until fully or firmly set. Do not place it in the freezer. It will cause it to lose it’s ability to gel and become watery.
  5. Do not remove it from the refrigerator if it isn’t set.
  6. Once they are set, remove and cover with their lids and serve or put them back in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve them.

Notes:

  1. Make a space in your refrigerator that can hold the largest baking sheet pan with the jello shots. This make it easy to move to and from the refrigerator.
  2. Allow each layers to set fully before adding the next layer. This helps to prevent the layers from bleeding (mixing together) into the other layer.
  3. Please make sure the white and red liquid mixtures are completely cooled before pouring it on the top of the previous layer.
  4. For the White Layer, add enough sweetened condensed milk after adding the vodka to make it be 2 1/3 cups of liquid.
  5. Do not place it in the freezer. It will cause it to lose it’s ability to gel and become watery.
