Guinness Punch is creamy and smooth drink with a perfect combination from the bitterness of the Guinness and the sweetness of the condensed milk. It is an easy blended drink to make.
This punch is not just a Jamaican drink , but a Caribbean cold blended beverage. Every Caribbean country prepare it a little different, but the base remains the same: Guinness, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, nutmeg and cinnamon powder.
As a child growing up, my mother would only prepared this punch on a Sunday with some Rice and Peas, Baked Chicken and some of her homemade Coleslaw.
Once I was grown, I was able to taste the beauty of this punch and why she would make it for Sunday Dinner.
This is an easy, creamy, smooth and refreshing cold blended beverage that I know you will enjoy. Unlike my Jamaican Rum Punch there is no need for a blender, just a big pitcher or a dispenser.
Ingredients used in this Guinness Punch
This tasty punch can be made in different ways. These are the main ingredients that are used in a punch. But feel free to add other ingredients to make it to your liking.
Guinness: This is a dark Irish Stout that adds the bitterness to the punch.
Eggs: Some people used a raw egg, while some doesn’t. For this recipe, I did use a raw egg. However you can choose to not put one in with all the other ingredients.
Sweetened Condensed Milk: To add sweetness to the punch and helps get rid of the bitterness from the Guinness Stout.
Supligen: This is a creamy and flavorful drink in a can. Adding this to the punch, gives it a little thickness and added flavor. If you can’t get this, use whole milk instead.
Spices & Flavor: These add some flavor to the blended punch. These includes: nutmeg, cinnamon powder and vanilla extract.
How to make Guinness Punch?
Firstly, add the guinness, supligen or whole milk, vanilla extract, egg (optional) and condensed milk into a blender and blend. Add the nutmeg and cinnamon powder to the liquid mixture and blend again.
Thirdly, pour the liquid into a large pitcher/jug with a lid. Allow to chill in the refrigerator for about an hour or if you cant wait to taste it, pour over some ice in a serving glass.
Finally, garnish with some whipped cream and grated nutmeg and serve.
Guinness Punch Recipe
1 bottle of Guinness (12 oz)
1 9.8 oz can of Vanilla Supligen or 1 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Sweeten Condensed Milk
1 large Egg (optional)
Whipped Cream and grated Nutmeg, to garnish (optional)
Pour the Guinness, vanilla supligen or whole milk, vanilla extract, egg (optional) and sweeten condensed milk in a blender and blend together.
Then add the cinnamon and nutmeg and blend. Taste with a spoon for sweetness and adjust if needed with more sweetened condensed milk.
Pour the liquid mixture into a large pitcher/jug with a lid. Allow to chill in the refrigerator for about an hour, before serving. If not, then pour it over some ice in a serving glass.
Garnish with whipped cream and then some grated nutmeg on top.
Serve and enjoy.
The raw egg is optional, so you don’t have to add it. Please keep in mind though, you wont even taste it or smell it in the punch.
If you are unable to find a Supligen, then substitute it with Whole Milk.
