A Creamy, Tasty & Flavorful Cajun Chicken Pasta dish.
It is a simple and easy but an amazingly delicious dinner option for you and your family.
The combination of the herbs, spices and the creamy cheese sauce is the perfect blend that makes this Cajun Chicken Pasta recipe the perfect homemade dinner just under 30 minutes or less.
I have always love a good pasta dish, so once I discovered this one, that was it for me.
The well seasoned chicken, beautifully sautéed vegetables, perfectly creamy Cajun sauce with some cooked penne pasta, leaves you wanting a second plate.
I love how the sauce comes together because everything is done in the one pot.
Sorry but it tastes even better than the one from your favorite Chili’s restaurant.
Pasta Options
For this easy pasta dish, I used the penne pasta.
The linguine is another option to make this dish tasty too.
However, you can choose to use any type of pasta of your choice.
Also, you can choose to use some whole wheat pasta or whole grain pasta for some added nutritional value.
Regardless of which pasta type you use for this Cajun Chicken Pasta recipe it will still be a crowd pleasing dinner option for you and your family.
Substitute for Half and Half Cream
Personally, I have used both half and half cream and heavy cream with the Parmesan cheese to make the sauce because of how it make the sauce so creamy and delicious.
However, you can choose to substitute the half and half cream or heavy cream with Parmesan cheese for some Cream cheese with some chicken broth to make the sauce creamy also.
For this Cajun Chicken Penne Pasta recipe you can use about 2 cups of chicken stock and about 2 ounces of cream cheese.
What to serve with Cajun Chicken Pasta?
This dish is so delicious all by itself.
You truly don’t really need anything to go with it.
However, I must say that with some side dish it is even better.
The choice is up to you and your taste buds.
You can choose to eat some of my famous side dish such as:
Can I make the Cajun Chicken Pasta in advance?
You can make it in advance, but keep in mind that the longer the Penne pasta sits out the less creamy the sauce becomes because the pasta will soak up all the sauce.
So you want to avoid doing so.
Perhaps, what you can do is to make the sauce with the chicken ahead of time.
Whenever you are ready to eat, cook the pasta, add it to the sauce and serve.
Can I freeze this Cajun Chicken Pasta dish?
Personally, I wouldn’t choose to freeze this pasta dish, due to the fact that once the creamy sauce is defrost, the consistency maybe a bit different.
If you choose so, you can go ahead and do it.
Freeze this dish in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
However, it can be stored in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 days
